Guaraná soda (guaraná) is the ordinary Brazilian soft drink next to homemade juice at a churrasco. It is sweet, pale gold, and flavored from the Amazon fruit Paullinia cupana. It is not cola with a Brazilian label.

What it tastes like
It tastes like a light, fruity soda. The usual bottle in Brazil is Guaraná Antarctica, sweetened with cane sugar. Serve it ice-cold, in the can or over ice.
Where to buy it in the US
Look for Guaraná Antarctica first. The common pack is 12 cans, 11.83 fl oz/ 350 ml each. A US Latin market or Brazilian grocery is the easiest in-person stop. Walmart and Target sometimes carry the same 12-pack. If the store is out, order the 12-pack online and keep it cold before the fire.
Kuat or other Brazilian-style guaraná sodas are a fair backup when Antarctica is missing. Both Antarctica and Kuat show up in many US Latin aisles.
How it goes on the table
